EM’s Office of River Protection awarded Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) contractor Bechtel National, Inc. (BNI) approximately $6.5 million, or about 83% of the available fee, for work performed in calendar year 2022 at the Hanford Site.
EM releases information relating to contractor fee payments earned by completing the work called for in their contracts to provide transparency in its cleanup program.
According to the award fee determination scorecard, BNI received an “excellent” rating for its work for the High-Level Waste Facility. The contractor also received a “very good” rating in the five other performance areas, including project cost and schedule performance; Direct-Feed Low-Activity Waste Program engineering and integration; WTP commissioning, management and readiness; and environmental, safety, health and quality assurance.
A highlight noted in the scorecard was the improved internal operations and engineering team communications, collaboration and efficiency in addressing technical issues identified during commissioning testing.
