WASHINGTON, D.C. - EM headquarters announced today that Randy Hendrickson, a senior leader with extensive background and experience in military and civilian service, has accepted a position in the private sector.

Hendrickson has served as EM’s acting associate principal deputy assistant secretary for regulatory and policy affairs since January.

“His knowledge of the DOE and EM program, as well as his extensive leadership experience in the Department of Defense and DOE, contributed significantly to EM’s sustained cleanup progress across the complex," EM Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Jeff Avery said. “We thank Randy for his many contributions to the DOE and EM missions and wish him the best in his new role, and next step of his career."

Hendrickson moved to a civilian career in 2015 after completing 30 years of service in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a rear admiral. Hendrickson began his career at DOE as associate administrator for management and budget in the National Nuclear Security Administration. In 2018, he became the Department’s deputy chief financial officer (CFO) before serving as the acting CFO, a position he held until early 2021 when he joined EM as the deputy for corporate services.
