Washington, D.C. - House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Subcommittee on Health Chair Brett Guthrie (R-KY) today announced a subcommittee hearing titled “Innovation Saves Lives: Evaluating Medicare Coverage Pathways for Innovative Drugs, Medical Devices, and Technology."

The Chairs released the following statement:

“It’s critical that America’s seniors can access the best proven treatments and that doctors are positioned to provide the most effective care based on their patients’ individual needs. As we look ahead, Medicare must provide more transparency into how and on what timeline it makes coverage determinations. They must also work to create a more reliable pathway for coverage of safe and effective breakthrough treatments with the ultimate goal of providing greater predictability and stability for medical innovators, doctors, and, most importantly, patients."
